Satan’s Deception Behind Alcohol and Its Dangers in Islam

❀ The Role of Satan in Alcohol Consumption ❀
Compiled by: Dr. Raza Abdullah Pasha

❖ Question:

Is the inclination toward drinking alcohol caused by Satan?

❖ Answer:

Yes.

Allah Almighty has stated:

[Al-Mā’idah: 90–91]

"O you who believe! Verily, intoxicants, gambling, sacrificing to stone altars, and divining arrows are abominations of Satan’s handiwork, so avoid them that you may succeed.
Satan only seeks to cause enmity and hatred among you through wine and gambling, and to hinder you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. So will you not desist?"

From these verses, it becomes clear that the inclination toward alcohol consumption arises from the deception of Satan. He beautifies and glorifies evil, presenting it as something good, while portraying goodness as harshness and extremism.

✔ Key Points:

Alcohol and gambling are described as filthy acts from Satan’s handiwork.
② Satan aims to sow enmity and hatred among people through these means.
③ He intends to distract believers from the remembrance of Allah and prayer.
④ Satan beautifies evil, making it appear attractive and harmless.
⑤ Allah commands the believers to completely avoid such practices for success.

We pray to Allah to grant us all understanding of the religion and bless us with a good ending. Āmīn.
