Instructions Regarding Slaughters
① Sayyiduna Shaddad bin Aws رضي الله عنه narrates, I learned two things from the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم. He said:
إن الله كتب الإحسان على كل شيء فإذا قتلتم فأحسنوا القتلة وإذا ذبحتم فأحسنوا الذبحة وليحد أحدكم شفرته وليرح ذبيحته
"Indeed, Allah has made excellence obligatory in everything. So when you kill, kill well; and when you slaughter, slaughter well. Sharpen your knife and ease the suffering of the animal you slaughter."

Instructions Regarding Sacrificial Animals
① Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
ما عمل آدمي من عمل يوم النحر أحب إلى الله من إهراق الدم ، وإنها لتأتي يوم القيامة بقرونها وأشعارها وأظلافها ، وإن الدم ليقع من الله بمكان قبل أن يعق على الأرض ، فطيبوا بها نفسا
"On the day of sacrifice, the most beloved deed to Allah is that a person sheds blood (sacrifices) on that day. That animal will come on the Day of Judgment with its horns, hair, and hooves. And its blood reaches Allah before it falls on the ground. So, perform the sacrifice with a happy heart."
Reference: Tirmidhi, Book of Sacrifices 1493. Its chain includes Abu al-Muthanna who is weak. Therefore, this hadith is weak.
② Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) sacrificed two rams with a mixture of white and black (spotted) and with horns with his blessed hand. He (peace be upon him) took the name of Allah over them, said Takbir (Bismillah Allahu Akbar), and placed his foot on their necks.

Prohibition of slaughtering for anyone other than Allah
① Sayyiduna Amir bin Wathilah رضي الله عنه narrates, I was with Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib رضي الله عنه when a man came to him, and he said: The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم told me these four specific words. The man said: Amir al-Mu'minin! What are those words? He said:
لعن الله من لعن والديه ، ولعن الله من ذبح لغير الله ، ولعن الله من آوى محدثا ، ولعن الله من غير منار الأرض
"May Allah curse the person who curses his parents, the person who sacrifices for anyone other than Allah, then Allah sends a curse upon him. The person who gives refuge to an innovator, Allah sends a curse upon him, the person who changes the boundaries (limits) of the land, Allah sends a curse upon him."
