Rushing from Rukoo' to Sujood Without Standing is Against Sunnah

❖ Hadith Reference: Standing After Rukoo' Before Sujood

Narrated by Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri رضي الله عنه:
"When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would raise his head from Rukoo’, he would say:
رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ مِلْءَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمِلْءَ الْأَرْضِ وَمِلْءَ مَا شِئْتَ مِنْ شَيْءٍ بَعْدُ…
'O our Lord! All praise is for You, filling the heavens and the earth and whatever You will thereafter…'"
Reference: Sahih Muslim: 477

❖ Key Rulings and Reflections

✔️ Standing after Rukoo’ (Qawmah) is Sunnah:
It is a prescribed Sunnah to stand straight after Rukoo’ before going into Sujood. This standing is known as Qawmah.

❌ Going directly to Sujood without standing:
Skipping this position and rushing straight to Sujood violates the Sunnah and indicates a lack of tranquillity in prayer.

❖ Important Benefits

➊ The Prophet ﷺ recited comprehensive praise-filled supplications in the standing posture after Rukoo’, highlighting the importance of pausing with serenity.
➋ This standing is not merely transitional; it has du'as and dhikr associated with it and is part of the prophetic way.
➌ The omission of Qawmah invalidates the completeness and perfection of the Salah, especially when done habitually.
➍ A lack of pause or rushing in prayer is a sign of deficiency in one's devotion and focus, which goes against the essence of worship.
➎ Maintaining proper order and tranquillity in Salah reflects one's sincere emulation of the Prophet’s ﷺ practice.

❖ Conclusion

Rushing from Rukoo’ into Sujood without pausing for Qawmah contradicts the Sunnah. Every part of Salah, including postures and praises, has its unique value and prophetic endorsement. Ensuring calmness and completeness in these postures is essential for a valid and spiritually rewarding prayer.
