Method of Ruqyah to Protect Children from Evil Eye

❖ Question:
How should we perform ruqyah for children to protect them from the evil eye?
❖ Answer:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (RA):
«كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يتعود من أعين الجان وأعين الإنسان، فلما نزلت المعوذتان أخذ بهما وترك ما سواهما»
"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to seek refuge from the evil eyes of jinn and men, but when the two Surahs of seeking refuge (Al-Mu‘awwidhatayn) were revealed, he adopted them and abandoned all else."
[Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Hadith no. 2058; Sunan al-Nasa’i, Hadith no. 8271; Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith no. 3511]
Imam al-Tirmidhi said: This Hadith is Hasan.
It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (RA):
When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to perform ruqyah for Hasan and Husayn (RA), he would say:
«أعيذكما بكلمات الله التامة من كل شيطان وهامة، ومن كل عين لامة»
"I seek refuge for you both in the Perfect Words of Allah, from every devil and every poisonous creature, and from every harmful eye."
