❀ Islamic Ruling on Wiping Over Ankle-Length Socks (Half Socks) ❀
① If the socks cover the ankles entirely, then there is no harm in wiping over them.
② However, if the ankles remain exposed, then according to the majority of scholars, it is not permissible to wipe over such socks.
④ Nevertheless, the consensus of the majority (jumhūr) of scholars is that covering the ankles is a necessary condition for masḥ to be valid.
⑤ Therefore, as a matter of caution, it is better not to wipe over socks that do not cover the ankles.
✔ Refraining from wiping over half socks is the more cautious and preferable practice.

Clarification is requested regarding the Sharʿī ruling on performing masḥ (wiping) over half socks.❖ Answer by: Shaykh Dāʾūd Ismāʿīl (ḥafiẓahullāh) and Shaykh ʿAbd al-Wakīl Nāṣir (ḥafiẓahullāh)
