Ruling on Wearing Normal Clothes After Umrah Without Shaving or Trimming Hair
Source: Fatāwā Arkān al-Islām
A pilgrim performing Hajj Tamattuʿ completed the Tawaf and Saʿi of ʿUmrah but wore normal clothes without shaving (ḥalq) or trimming (taqṣīr) his hair. Later, after Hajj, he learned that this was incorrect. What should he do now?
Alḥamdulillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu was-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, Ammā Baʿd!
❖ This pilgrim has omitted one of the essential wājib acts of ʿUmrah, namely ḥalq (shaving the head) or taqṣīr (trimming the hair).
❖ According to the scholars, omitting this wājib requires a fidyah (compensation).
❖ The fidyah is the slaughter of one animal in Makkah al-Mukarramah, with its meat distributed among the poor there.
❖ Although he omitted a wājib, both his ʿUmrah and his Hajj Tamattuʿ remain valid.
