Ruling on Using Mosque Oil for Personal Use

📚 Source: Ahkam wa Masail in the Light of Qur’an and Hadith, Volume 02

âť– Question

Worshippers donate oil to the mosque for lighting lamps. However, the Imam and students use this oil for their personal purposes. Is such an act permissible?

âť– Answer

When oil is given specifically for mosque lamps, it must be used only for that purpose. If the Imam or students use this oil for personal use, they are committing betrayal and violating the trust of the mosque.
