Ruling on the Narration Regarding the Sound of a Nail Being Heard by ʿĀʾishah (RA)

"ʿĀʾishah (RA) used to hear the sound of a nail being hammered in one of the clay houses adjacent to the Prophet’s ﷺ Mosque. She would send a message to the inhabitants of the house saying: 'Do not harm the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.'"

This narration is fabricated (false).


Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan ibn Zubālah is graded as:
  • Abandoned (matrūk)
  • Liar (kadhdhāb)

ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Abī Ḥāzim is from the generation of the Tabaʿ Tabiʿīn, making his narration from ʿĀʾishah (RA) interrupted (munqaṭiʿ).


➌ The mentioned supporter (mutābiʿ) Nawfal ibn ʿAmmār is untraceable—no mention found in reliable sources.
