What is the ruling on the narration of a majhūl (unknown) narrator?
The narration of a majhūl narrator is weak, and it is not permissible to use it as proof.
✔ Imam Ibn al-Mundhir رحمه الله (319 AH):
“It is not permissible to use the hadith of a majhūl as proof, for it is like a disconnected (munqaṭiʿ) narration through which proof cannot be established.”
