Ruling on the Fast of a Woman Who Sees Blood but Is Unsure Whether It Is Menstrual Blood

Source:
This text is derived from the book "500 Questions and Answers for Women", which comprises the fatwas of the scholars of the Haramain and has been translated by Hafiz Abdullah Saleem.

❖ Question:

When a woman sees blood but is not certain that it is definitely menstrual blood, what is the ruling concerning her fast on that day?

✔ Answer:

The woman's fast on that day is valid and correct, because the basic principle is that it is not menstrual blood unless it becomes clear that it is indeed menstrual blood.
