Are there Sunnah prayers before the Friday khuṭbah similar to the Sunnah prayers of Ẓuhr, established from aḥādīth?
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu wa-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ammā baʿd!
Narrated by Abū Hurayrah
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Kitāb al-Jumuʿah, Bāb al-Istimaʿ ilā al-Khuṭbah)
Translation:
“On the day of Jumuʿah, the angels stand at the gates of the masjid writing down those who come in order. The first is like one who offers a camel, then a cow, then a ram, then a chicken, then an egg. When the imām comes out, they close their records and listen to the remembrance.”
◈ There are no fixed Sunnah prayers before the Friday khuṭbah like the Sunnah of Ẓuhr.
◈ However, it is legislated to perform Ṭahiyyat al-Masjid, Ṭahiyyat al-Wuḍūʾ, and nawāfil before the imām begins the khuṭbah.

❖ Question
Are there Sunnah prayers before the Friday khuṭbah similar to the Sunnah prayers of Ẓuhr, established from aḥādīth?
✿ Answer
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu wa-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ammā baʿd!
- Sunnah prayers before the Friday khuṭbah — like the regular Sunnah (rawātib) of Ẓuhr — are not established from authentic aḥādīth.
- However, praying Ṭahiyyat al-Masjid, Ṭahiyyat al-Wuḍūʾ, and other nawāfil before the khuṭbah is established in authentic narrations.
