❖ Question:
What is the ruling on taking multiple showers or sitting all day in air conditioning during the fasts of Ramadan, especially when the air conditioning causes moisture?
❖ Answer:
It is permissible and there is no harm in doing so. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ himself would pour water over his head due to heat or thirst while in a state of fasting. Similarly, Ibn ʿUmar (رضي الله عنهما) would wet his garment with water while fasting to reduce the intensity of heat and thirst.
As for moisture, it has no effect on the fast, because it is not the kind of water that reaches the stomach.
