The Ruling on One Who Shows Disdain for the Sunnah

What is the ruling on a person who shows disdain (istikhfaf) for the Sunnah?
❖ Answer
Showing disdain for the Sunnah is kufr (disbelief).
❀ ʿAllamah Shaykhzadeh al-Hanafi (رحمه الله, 1078H) said:
من استخف بسنة أو حديث من أحاديثه عليه الصلاة والسلام أو رد حديثا متواترا أو قال: سمعناه كثيرا بطريق الاستخفاف كفر.
“Whoever shows disdain for a Sunnah or a hadith of the Messenger ﷺ, or rejects a mutawatir hadith, or mockingly says: ‘We have heard this many times,’ then he becomes a disbeliever.”
