❖ Question

In my view, saying “Ṣadaqallāhu al-ʿAẓīm” after completing Qur’an recitation is a bidʿah. Is this correct?

❖ Answer

Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu wa-s-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ammā baʿd!

At the conclusion of Qur’an recitation, saying “Ṣadaqallāhu al-ʿAẓīm” is indeed an innovated practice (amr muḥdath).
