Ruling on Repeating the Prayer If a Body Part Remains Dry During Wudu

❖ Question:

If a part of the body remains dry during wudu and one realizes this after the prayer, is it necessary to repeat the prayer?

❖ Answer by Shaykh ʿAbd al-Wakeel Nasir ḥafiẓahullāh:

The strong and preferred opinion is that one should perform wudu again completely and repeat the prayer.

This is because wudu is a prerequisite for the validity of salah, and if the wudu was incomplete, then the prayer is also invalid.

This is not a matter in which ignorance or forgetfulness provides an exemption.
Such an issue results from negligence and carelessness in wudu, and therefore, repeating the prayer is the correct ruling.

✔ Summary:

A prayer is not valid without complete wudu.
Thus, if any part remains dry, one must redo the wudu properly and offer the prayer again.
