Question
Can a person rent out his shop to someone who conducts a haram business—such as selling CDs and cassettes of films and songs, or intoxicating substances? Would the income derived from such rent be considered haram?✔ Answer
Renting out a shop to someone who engages in haram or non-Sharʿī business is Islamically impermissible and haram. This action amounts to assisting in sinful and wrongful activities, which is explicitly prohibited in the Shariah.Allah ﷻ says in the Qur'an:
﴿وَتَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوَى وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ﴾
(Sūrat al-Māʾidah: 2)
"And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and transgression."

In light of this noble verse, renting a shop to someone involved in haram business is clearly unlawful. The income earned from such a rental is also considered haram, as it is obtained by means of supporting sinful activities.✔ Conclusion
Renting out a property for haram business is not permissible, and the earnings from such a rental are regarded as unlawful income in Islam.وَاللّٰهُ أَعْلَمُ
