Question

In some cities on the day of Eid, the Imam recites the Takbeerat in a loud voice through a loudspeaker, and the congregation repeats the Takbeerat loudly along with him. What is the ruling of this practice in light of Shariah?

Answer

Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu was-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ʾAmma baʿd:

The situation described by the questioner — the Imam reciting the Takbeerat on Eid day through a loudspeaker and the congregation repeating them loudly together — is not established from the Prophet ﷺ nor from the noble Companions رضي الله عنهم.

Sunnah Method:

❀ Saying the Takbeerat on the day of Eid is Sunnah, but its method is as follows:

◈ Every person should recite the Takbeerat individually.
◈ Reciting the Takbeerat collectively, or following the Imam in unison through a loudspeaker, is not established from the Sunnah.

Summary:

❀ Saying the Takbeerat collectively through a loudspeaker, or everyone loudly following the Imam in unison, is not a Sharʿi method.
❀ The prescribed Sunnah is that each individual should recite the Takbeerat on their own, at their own place.
