Question

Can I lead the congregational prayer in a Barelvi mosque before the adhān has been called, while in the same village the Ahl al-Ḥadīth mosque’s adhān has already been proclaimed? Will my prayer be valid?

Answer

Mosque Founded on Taqwā and Ikhlāṣ
  • It is not permissible to pray or establish one’s congregation in any mosque whose foundation was not laid upon taqwā and sincerity, even if that mosque belongs to the Ahl al-Ḥadīth.

Scriptural Evidence
  • Allah Most High says:

    (Sūrah al-Tawbah 9:108)
Conclusion
  • Therefore, performing prayer in a mosque lacking in ikhlāṣ and taqwā is not appropriate, regardless of its affiliation.
And Allah knows best.
