The Hadith in which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ removed his shoes during prayer and the companions followed him relates to the matter of impurity (najasah), not the issue of Wudu. If Wudu has not been performed or its conditions are not fulfilled, then Salah is invalid.
Hence, the person in question must repeat his prayers.

This is because one of the conditions for the validity of wiping over socks is that the socks or leather socks (khuffs) must be worn in a state of Wudu.Therefore, this person must repeat all the prayers he performed in that state, because they were conducted without a valid Wudu.
