Ruling on Performing or Attending a Nikah with a Qadiani Woman

Source: Fatāwā Amunpuri by Shaykh Ghulam Mustafa Zaheer Amunpuri

❖ Question:

What is the ruling regarding those who knowingly perform or participate in the nikāḥ of a Muslim man with a Qādiyānī (Ahmadi) woman?

✿ Answer:

Those who knowingly conduct or participate in such a nikāḥ have committed a ḥarām (forbidden) act.
This constitutes assisting in sin, which is strictly prohibited in Islam.

Such a marriage is null and void (bāṭil) in Islamic law.
A Muslim man is not allowed to marry a woman who is a disbeliever (kāfirah) or apostate (murtaddah).

Allah ﷻ says:

﴿ وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ ﴾

📚 Sūrat al-Mā’idah (5): 2

“And do not assist one another in sin and transgression.”

✦ Key Principles:

Qādiyānīs (Ahmadis) are non-Muslims according to the consensus of mainstream Islamic scholars.
② A Muslim male cannot marry a disbelieving woman, especially one who denies finality of Prophethood (as the Qādiyānīs do).
③ Anyone who officiates, facilitates, or witnesses such a marriage knowingly is sharing in the sin.
④ The nikāḥ is invalid and holds no legal or religious weight in Islam.

✔ Summary:

• Performing or participating in the nikāḥ of a Muslim man and a Qādiyānī woman is a sinful and prohibited act.
• The marriage is bāṭil (void), as it involves a Muslim and a non-Muslim apostate.
• This constitutes cooperation in sin, which is forbidden by Qur’anic command.
• Such involvement is a serious violation of Islamic rulings on marriage and belief.
