(Al-Furqān: 62)
ʿĀ’ishah (ra) narrated that when the Prophet ﷺ missed his Tahajjud prayer due to illness or sleep, he would offer twelve rakʿāt during the day.
(Muslim, Tirmidhī)
Another ḥadīth states that whoever misses their regular night prayers and makes them up before Ẓuhr, it is as if he offered them during the night.
(Muslim)
"Whoever forgets the Witr prayer or oversleeps should offer it when he remembers or wakes up."
(Tirmidhī, Abū Dāwūd)
"Whoever offers the five prayers at their appointed times, Allah will forgive him and admit him into Paradise. And whoever neglects them, he will be at Allah’s discretion: He may forgive or punish him."
(Tirmidhī, Abū Dāwūd, Muwaṭṭāʾ Mālik)

❀ Question
What should a person do if they miss Tahajjud prayer due to travel, illness, or sleep, and the time for Witr has also passed? Is it sinful to make up the missed prayer? Additionally, if one forgets to recite Duʿā al-Qunūt in Witr, should they perform sajdah sahw or just end the prayer?❀ Ruling on Missed Tahajjud Prayer
If a person misses the Tahajjud prayer due to travel, illness, or sleep, it is recommended to make it up during the day.

❀ Making Up Missed Witr
If the time for Witr passes, it must be made up. The Prophet ﷺ said:"Whoever forgets the Witr prayer or oversleeps should offer it when he remembers or wakes up."
(Tirmidhī, Abū Dāwūd)
❀ Is It Sinful to Make Up Prayers?
Delaying a farḍ prayer without a valid excuse is a sin. The Prophet ﷺ said:"Whoever offers the five prayers at their appointed times, Allah will forgive him and admit him into Paradise. And whoever neglects them, he will be at Allah’s discretion: He may forgive or punish him."
(Tirmidhī, Abū Dāwūd, Muwaṭṭāʾ Mālik)
❀ Forgetting Duʿā al-Qunūt
Duʿā al-Qunūt is neither obligatory nor a pillar of prayer. If it is forgotten, sajdah sahw is not required, and the prayer does not need to be repeated.(Muḥaddith Dehlī, Volume 8, Issue 3)
