Source: Fatāwā Rāshidiyyah, p. 285
❖ Question:
Should one fold the hands after rukuʿ in the standing position (qiyām), as some scholars do? If not, please provide the relevant hadith. Also, if you have written a book on this topic, kindly share it for reference.
❖ Answer:
الحمد لله، والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله، أما بعد!
According to my research, after rukuʿ, in the standing position (qiyām), the hands should be left free at the sides and not folded.

- On this subject, Rām al-Ḥurūf wrote a detailed book in Sindhi.
- Later, at the request of several companions, he authored a shorter treatise in Urdu titled:
“Nayl al-Amānī wa Ḥuṣūl al-Āmāl.” - Our respected brother, Sayyid Badīʿ al-Dīn Shāh رحمه الله, wrote critical notes on this booklet.
- In response, I (the mufti) composed a detailed reply, which was recently published in Karachi.

After rukuʿ, hands should not be folded; rather, they should be left at the sides. This view has been discussed and defended in dedicated writings.
