If the Day of ‘Arafah falls on a Friday, should one fast on that day?
Yes, fasting should be observed. Although fasting specifically on Friday has been prohibited, in this case the fast is not being kept because it is Friday, but because it is the Day of ‘Arafah. Therefore, if the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah falls on a Friday, one should fast.
