If a person has the Qur’an or a book containing adhkār (supplications) and awrād (invocations) in his pocket, can he enter the toilet in this state?
No, he cannot enter the toilet in this state.
This ruling is based on the practice of the Prophet ﷺ concerning items with sacred texts:
Anas ibn Mālik (رضي الله عنه) reported:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had a ring made of silver, and the inscription “Muḥammad Rasūl Allāh” was engraved upon it — "Muḥammad" in one line, "Rasūl" in another, and "Allāh" in a third line.
When entering the toilet, the Prophet ﷺ used to remove the ring.
