Ruling on Deliberately Missing a Fast in Ramadan

Question:

What is the ruling for a person who deliberately misses a fast during Ramadan and later repents? Will their repentance be accepted?

Answer:

Yes, their repentance can be accepted because Allah Almighty says in the Qur’an:

وَإِنِّي لَغَفَّارٌ لِمَنْ تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا ثُمَّ اهْتَدَى

"And indeed, I am the Most Forgiving to whoever repents, believes, and does righteous deeds, and then remains guided."
(Surah Ta-Ha: 82)

Additionally, there are many other evidences in the Qur’an and Sunnah that support the acceptance of sincere repentance.
