Fatawa ‘Alamgiri states:
“The actions of those who claim ‘ecstasy and love’ have no basis. Sufis should be prohibited from raising their voices and tearing their clothes, as mentioned in al-Sirajiyyah.”

✘ However, actions such as dancing, shouting, or tearing clothes in the name of spiritual ecstasy have no basis in Islam.
✘ These acts are innovations (bid‘ah) and resemble Sufi customs, which are not supported by the Qur’an or Sunnah.

What is the ruling on organizing a Na'at gathering and entering into a state of ecstatic dancing during the event?❖ Answer:
This is a practice adopted from Sufis. While mentioning and praising the Prophet ﷺ is a legitimate and commendable act in Islam, it is essential to observe the etiquettes laid down by the Prophet ﷺ himself.❖ Scholarly Verdict:
