Question
A woman entered the state of Ihram from the mīqāt while menstruating. Upon reaching Makkah, she became pure from menstruation and then changed her clothes. What is the ruling on this?
Answer
Alḥamdulillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu was-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, Ammā Baʿd!
- If a woman enters Ihram at the mīqāt while in menstruation, and upon reaching Makkah she becomes pure (free from menstruation), it is permissible for her to change her clothes.
- She may wear any clothing that is Islamically permissible.
- There is no prohibition in this matter.
Same applies to men:
- A man may also change his Ihram garments, provided they meet the Sharʿī requirements.
- Changing garments in Ihram is permissible and contains no restriction or undesirability.
