✿ Question:
Is it permissible to refer to Allah as “Allah Miyāṅ”?
✿ Answer:
✔ If the term “Allah Miyāṅ” is used without any misguided belief attached to it, then it may be said respectfully. The word “Miyāṅ” reflects reverence and grandeur, similar to how in Arabic phrases like “Taʿālā” or “Jalla Shanuhu” are added to the name of Allah.
✔ However, it is better and more virtuous to address Allah ﷻ only with the names and attributes proven by the Qur’an and Sunnah. Allah ﷻ Himself says:
✔ Qur’anic Guidance:
“وَلِلَّهِ الْأَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْنَىٰ فَادْعُوهُ بِهَا”
“And to Allah belong the best names, so call Him by them.”
(Sūrah al-Aʿrāf: 180)
✿ Conclusion:
✔ It is preferable to invoke Allah ﷻ using the names and attributes He has chosen for Himself, as this is more appropriate and commendable.
