❖ The Ruling on Ḥadd for Slandering a Group
◈ If Someone Slanders a Group
(Ḥanafiyyah & Mālikiyyah)
If a person slanders a group, then only one ḥadd will be applied.
(Imām al-Shāfi‘ī & Zufar رحمهما الله)
A separate ḥadd for each individual will be applied.
(Ḥanābilah)
If he slanders the group with one single statement, then only one ḥadd will be applied.
However, if he slanders them with multiple separate statements, then ḥadd will be applied for each individual. This is because qaḏf is the right of a person, and the right of one does not fulfill the right of another, similar to debts or qiṣāṣ.

◈ Preferred Opinion (الراجح)
The view of Imām al-Shāfi‘ī (رحمه الله) appears to be closer to analogy, because even a single statement is sufficient to slander an entire group.
