Revoking a Will if it Involves Injustice to Heirs

Author: Dr. Muhammad Zia-ur-Rahman Azmi (رحمه الله)

Ruling on Revoking a Will Involving Injustice

If a will (wasiyyah) contains any injustice toward the heirs, it is not only permissible to revoke such a will but also recommended. This action is more just for the heirs and better for the one making the will.

The permissibility of revoking such a will is established from the evidence provided by the sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).
