Question:

Can a father marry his former daughter-in-law after his son has passed away or after divorcing his wife?

Answer:

A father cannot marry his former daughter-in-law after the death of his son or after his son divorces her. This is prohibited, as stated in the command of Allah:

“And (forbidden to you are) the wives of your sons who are from your own loins.”

(An-Nisa: 23)

Therefore, under no circumstances can a father marry his daughter-in-law.

Question:

Can the Qunoot of Witr prayer be recited with plural pronouns?

Answer:

Yes! It is narrated by Sayyiduna Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) taught him the following words for the Qunoot of Witr:

"O Allah! Guide us among those You have guided, grant us well-being among those You have granted well-being, take us into Your care among those You have taken into Your care, bless us in what You have given, and protect us from the evil of what You have decreed. Indeed, You decree, and none can pass a decree over You. He whom You befriend is not humbled. Blessed and Exalted are You."

(Al-Mu'jam al-Kabir by Tabarani: 73/3, Hadith: 2700, and its chain is authentic)

Question:

Will Lady Maryam and Lady Asiya (peace be upon them) both be the wives of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in Paradise?

Answer:

There is no authentic Hadith that confirms Lady Maryam and Lady Asiya bint Muzahim (peace be upon them) will be the wives of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in Paradise. The narrations on this subject do not reach the level of authenticity according to the principles of the scholars of Hadith.

Consider the following:

  1. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah al-Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say to Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her):
"Do you know that Allah has married me in Paradise to Maryam, the daughter of Imran, Kulthum, the sister of Musa, and the wife of Pharaoh?"
    (Al-Mu'jam al-Kabir by Tabarani: 259/8, Hadith: 8006, Al-Kamil fi Du'afa al-Rijal by Ibn Adi: 180/7)
Commentary:

This is a fabricated narration because:

  1. Khalid bin Yusuf al-Samti in the chain is considered "weak" by the majority of scholars. Imam Ibn Adi, Hafiz Dhahabi, and Hafiz Haythami have labeled him as "weak."
  2. Abd al-Nur bin Abdullah in the chain is a "liar" who fabricated Hadith and attributed them to the Prophet (peace be upon him). Imam Aqili said about him: “He was a staunch Rafidi and a fabricator of Hadith.”
  3. Yunus bin Shu'aib in the chain is considered "munkar al-hadith" by Imam Bukhari, meaning his narrations are rejected.
  4. Sa'd bin Junadah narrates that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Allah has married me in Paradise to Maryam, the daughter of Imran, the wife of Pharaoh, and the sister of Musa."
    (Al-Mu'jam al-Kabir by Tabarani: 52/6, Hadith: 5485)
Commentary:

Its chain is extremely weak. Hafiz Haythami stated: "There are narrators in this chain whom I do not know," and in addition to these unknown narrators, there are also three "weak" narrators:

  1. Muhammad bin Sa'd al-'Awfi is a weak narrator, as Imam Al-Khatib states.
  2. Sa'd bin Muhammad al-'Awfi is described by Imam Ahmad as a "Jahmi" and not worthy of narration.
  3. Al-Husayn bin al-Hasan bin Atiyyah al-'Awfi is considered "weak" by most scholars.
  4. Ibn Abi Rawad narrates:
"The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) entered upon Khadija during her illness in which she passed away. He said to her: 'I am grieved by what I see in you, Khadija, but Allah has kept much good in this hardship. Did you know that Allah has married me in Paradise to Maryam, the daughter of Imran, Kulthum, the sister of Musa, and Asiya, the wife of Pharaoh?' She asked: 'O Messenger of Allah, has Allah done this?' He replied: 'Yes.'"
    (Al-Mu'jam al-Kabir by Tabarani: 451/22, Hadith: 1100)
Commentary:

Its chain is also extremely weak. Hafiz Haythami stated: "Its chain is disconnected, and it contains Muhammad bin al-Hasan bin Zubala, who is weak."

  1. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) entered upon Sayyidah Khadija (may Allah be pleased with her) during her illness and said:
"O Khadija! When you meet your co-wives, convey my greetings to them." She asked: "O Messenger of Allah! Did you marry someone before me?" He replied: "No, but Allah has married me to Maryam, the daughter of Imran, Asiya, the wife of Pharaoh, and Kulthum, the sister of Musa."
    (Tarikh Ibn Asakir: 118/70)
Commentary:
This is a fabricated and concocted narration. The narrator Abu Bakr Salmi bin Abdullah al-Hadhli is "rejected in Hadith."

  1. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said regarding Maryam, the daughter of Imran, and Asiya:
"These two will be my wives on the Day of Judgment."
    (Tarikh Ibn Asakir: 118/70)
Commentary:

Its chain is also extremely weak because it contains Muhammad bin Umar bin Salih al-Kala'i, who narrates rejected Hadith from trustworthy people.

Conclusion:

There is no authentic Hadith that mentions Lady Maryam and Lady Asiya (peace be upon them) being the wives of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in Paradise.
