❖ Question
Respected sir, I am a student living in worldly surroundings. My heart desires to study and gain knowledge, but I am unable to do so. Despite repeated efforts, I cannot succeed.
Fear constantly overcomes my heart, and this has become a routine condition. Some people claim that I am under the effect of magic. Please suggest a practice, whether from the Qur’an or the blessed words of the Prophet ﷺ, whose blessing and Allah’s mercy may free me from all these worries and difficulties.
❖ Answer
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu wa-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ʿAmma Baʿd!
Allah ﷻ says:
“Those who believe and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah; surely, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.”
(al-Raʿd: 28)
✿ Practical Guidance
- Engage abundantly in dhikr of Allah.
- Be consistent in performing the daily adhkār taught by the Prophet ﷺ.
- Recite frequently the following masnūn duʿā:
Translation:
“O Allah! I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, I seek refuge in You from weakness and laziness, I seek refuge in You from cowardice and miserliness, and I seek refuge in You from the burden of debt and from being overpowered by men.”
