❖ Prophetic Observations vs. Materialist Ideologies – A Theological & Rational Comparison ❖
The prophetic worldview emerges from direct experiences and observations that unveil the infinite perfection, noble attributes, and beautiful names (Asmāʾ al-Ḥusnā) of Allah ﷻ. It is precisely at this point that the true divergence between theists (God-believers) and materialists begins.
This is the core conflict between prophets and atheists:
Do the wonders of the universe emerge from an eternal, conscious Creator, or from lifeless, purposeless matter?
Materialists assert that:
➤ In the beginning, matter possessed no life, knowledge, will, or consciousness.
➤ Over time, through random evolution, these traits emerged from within matter.
In other words, what didn’t exist, came into being—by itself.
This view contradicts reason:
① Reason cannot accept that something comes from absolute non-existence.
② Life, knowledge, and intention cannot emerge from matter that never possessed these traits.
③ How can that which never existed, suddenly exist—without a source?
This is not logic; it is delusion.
The harmony, beauty, and structure observed across the cosmos are not random. They point to a source:
✔ A Perfect, Eternal Being – One that has always possessed life, knowledge, power, and will.
✔ This Being is none other than Allah ﷻ, the Creator, eternally described with complete attributes.
Materialists see the wonders of nature—the precision, design, and balance—and still attribute it to matter, which they themselves claim is void of perfection.
▶ This is akin to ascribing poetry to a stone, or wisdom to a void.
▶ It is, quite literally, a betrayal of observable reality—a blindness to truth.
Look at the marvels of the universe:
✔ The intricate design of the eye in humans and animals alike.
✔ The precise functioning of biological systems, ecosystems, and planetary orbits.
▶ These are not random occurrences, but examples of divine proportion and intelligent design.
The Qur’an declares:
"ذَٰلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْعَلِيمِ"
"This is the precise measure of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing."
[Sūrah Yāsīn: 38]
Materialists still label this breathtaking order as a "coincidental event."
➤ But how can a coincidence produce sustained harmony?
➤ It is intellectually absurd to claim that blind chance gave rise to such universal equilibrium.
Even Isaac Newton, after discovering the law of gravity, stated:
“The order and proportions observed in the universe clearly show that there is an intelligent and powerful Being behind them.”
✔ The prophets confirmed this through divine revelation and spiritual experience.
✔ Human reason and natural instincts (fiṭrah) both testify to the same truth.
There is no rational explanation for this universe except the affirmation of a conscious, eternal Creator.
The presence of order, perfection, and purpose in creation:
➤ Invalidates the materialist claim of random origin.
➤ Confirms the prophetic message of a wise and powerful Creator.
➤ Aligns with reason, observation, and innate human nature.
⟡ The Boundary Between Theism and Materialism
The prophetic worldview emerges from direct experiences and observations that unveil the infinite perfection, noble attributes, and beautiful names (Asmāʾ al-Ḥusnā) of Allah ﷻ. It is precisely at this point that the true divergence between theists (God-believers) and materialists begins.
This is the core conflict between prophets and atheists:
Do the wonders of the universe emerge from an eternal, conscious Creator, or from lifeless, purposeless matter?
❖ Materialism: Perfection From Lifeless Matter
Materialists assert that:
➤ In the beginning, matter possessed no life, knowledge, will, or consciousness.
➤ Over time, through random evolution, these traits emerged from within matter.
In other words, what didn’t exist, came into being—by itself.
⟡ A Rational Inconsistency
This view contradicts reason:
① Reason cannot accept that something comes from absolute non-existence.
② Life, knowledge, and intention cannot emerge from matter that never possessed these traits.
③ How can that which never existed, suddenly exist—without a source?
This is not logic; it is delusion.
❖ The Manifestation of Divine Attributes in Creation
The harmony, beauty, and structure observed across the cosmos are not random. They point to a source:
✔ A Perfect, Eternal Being – One that has always possessed life, knowledge, power, and will.
✔ This Being is none other than Allah ﷻ, the Creator, eternally described with complete attributes.
⟡ Materialism’s Contradiction with Reality
Materialists see the wonders of nature—the precision, design, and balance—and still attribute it to matter, which they themselves claim is void of perfection.
▶ This is akin to ascribing poetry to a stone, or wisdom to a void.
▶ It is, quite literally, a betrayal of observable reality—a blindness to truth.
❖ Laws of Nature and Signs of the Creator
Look at the marvels of the universe:
✔ The intricate design of the eye in humans and animals alike.
✔ The precise functioning of biological systems, ecosystems, and planetary orbits.
▶ These are not random occurrences, but examples of divine proportion and intelligent design.
The Qur’an declares:
"ذَٰلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْعَلِيمِ"
"This is the precise measure of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing."
[Sūrah Yāsīn: 38]
⟡ The Materialist Fallacy: Coincidence Theory
Materialists still label this breathtaking order as a "coincidental event."
➤ But how can a coincidence produce sustained harmony?
➤ It is intellectually absurd to claim that blind chance gave rise to such universal equilibrium.
❖ Prophets and Rational Certainty of God’s Existence
Even Isaac Newton, after discovering the law of gravity, stated:
“The order and proportions observed in the universe clearly show that there is an intelligent and powerful Being behind them.”
✔ The prophets confirmed this through divine revelation and spiritual experience.
✔ Human reason and natural instincts (fiṭrah) both testify to the same truth.
There is no rational explanation for this universe except the affirmation of a conscious, eternal Creator.
Summary: A Faith-Reason Synthesis
The presence of order, perfection, and purpose in creation:
➤ Invalidates the materialist claim of random origin.
➤ Confirms the prophetic message of a wise and powerful Creator.
➤ Aligns with reason, observation, and innate human nature.
