How Should the Deceased Be Washed?

Question:
How should the deceased be washed?
Answer:
The method of washing the deceased is the same as the method of ghusl al-janābah (ritual bath after major impurity).
❀ Imām Ibn al-Mundhir رحمه الله (319 AH) writes:
أجمعوا أن الميت يغسل غسل الجنابة
The scholars have consensus that the deceased is to be washed in the same manner as the ritual bath of janābah.
