It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that:
نهى النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم أن يصلي الرجل مختصرا
“The Prophet ﷺ forbade a man from praying with his hands placed on his waist.”

❖ The act of placing hands on both sides (hips or waist) during Salah is referred to as “khaṣr”, and this posture has been explicitly prohibited by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
✔ This practice reflects arrogance or laziness, and it contradicts the humility and submission that should be present during prayer.
