If there are both a mufassir (explicit) narration and a mujmal (ambiguous) narration, what should be done?
The mufassir narration is given preference over the mujmal narration.

“The mufassir narration overrides the ambiguous one if it is narrated by trustworthy and reliable narrators.”
(صحيح البخاري, no. 1483)
✔ Imam Ibn al-Mundhir رحمه الله (319 AH):
“The mufassir narration is given precedence over the mujmal one.”
