✦ Recognizing the Completion of the Prophet's Prayer ✦
كُنْتُ أَعْرِفُ انْقِضَاءَ صَلاَةِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِالتَّكْبِيرِ[Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, 842]
"I used to recognize the completion of the Prophet’s ﷺ prayer by the sound of ‘Allāhu Akbar’."
✦ Benefits ✦
Ḥaḍrat Ibn ʿAbbās (رضي الله عنهما) would stay at the home of his maternal aunt, Ḥaḍrat Maymūnah (رضي الله عنها), and due to his young age, he would not attend the mosque. He narrated that upon hearing the Prophet ﷺ loudly proclaiming “Allāhu Akbar”, he would understand that the Prophet had concluded his prayer and said salām. This indicates that it is Sunnah to recite "Allāhu Akbar" audibly after completing the prayer.✦ Sequence of Post-Prayer Supplications ✦
① Say "Astaghfirullāh" three times.② Recite the following:
اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلاَمُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلاَمُ تَبَارَكْتَ ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ
[Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, al-Masājid, 1334]
"O Allah! You are the source of peace and from You is all peace. Blessed are You, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor."
✦ Comprehensive Supplication of the Prophet ﷺ After Obligatory Prayers ✦
