This article is derived from the book "Salah Mustafa ﷺ" authored by the esteemed Abu Hamza Abdul Khaliq Siddiqi.

✿ Sujud al-Shukr (Prostration of Gratitude)

Performing Sujud al-Shukr upon receiving a blessing or on an occasion of happiness is Sunnah.
Sayyiduna Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه narrated:

أن النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم كان إذا أتاه أمر يسره أو يسر به خر ساجدا شكرا لله تبارك وتعالى
(Sunan Ibn Majah, Chapter on Prayer and Prostration upon Gratitude, Hadith no. 1394 – Irwa al-Ghalil, Hadith no. 474 – Sahih Abu Dawood, Hadith no. 2479)

"Whenever the Prophet ﷺ received a matter that pleased him or brought him joy, he would fall into prostration in gratitude to Allah, the Blessed and Exalted."
