Question:
Is the narration "Lolaak Lama Khalaqtul-Aflaak" authentic?
Answer:
The meaning of this narration is, "O Muhammad! If I had not created you, I would not have created the universe."
This narration is fabricated (mawdu'), as stated by Imam San’ani رحمه الله in his book Al-Ahadith al-Mawdu'ah (p. 52, Hadith no. 78), Allama Ajaluni in Kashf al-Khafa (2/163), and Imam Shawkani رحمه الله in Al-Fawaid al-Majmoo’ah fi al-Ahadith al-Mawdu'ah (p. 326).
Mulla Ali Qari's claim that the meaning of the Hadith is correct and his presentation of the narration from Daylami "O Muhammad! If it weren't for you, I would not have created Paradise or Hell" and the narration of Ibn Asakir "If it weren't for you, I would not have created the world" is incorrect. This is because such narrations can only be used in support if they are proven authentic. However, without a doubt, these narrations are also not proven.
The narration from Ibn Asakir has been classified as fabricated by Suyuti and Imam Ibn al-Jawzi رحمه الله. Similarly, the narration from Daylami has been deemed weak by Allama Nasiruddin al-Albani رحمه الله.
In the Qur'an, Allah has clearly mentioned the purpose of creating humans and jinn:
"And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me." (Surah Adh-Dhariyat: 56)
Thus, Allah has not mentioned any purpose for the creation of jinn and mankind other than worship. There is no evidence anywhere that suggests Allah created everything for any other purpose or for anyone else.
What is noteworthy is that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani stole this narration and included it in his book Haqiqatul-Wahi (p. 99), claiming that Allah addressed him with the words: "Lolaak Lama Khalaqtul-Aflaak."
Now, think! Should we accept the wisdom behind the creation of the universe that is stated in the Qur'an or the one found in this fabricated, false, and baseless narration?
