Prophetic Evidence:
❀ ʿAbdullāh ibn Masʿūd رضي الله عنه:
“We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during a journey when water became scarce. He ﷺ said: ‘Look for the remains of water.’ They brought a small container. The Prophet ﷺ put his hand in it and said: ‘Come to the blessed purification, and blessing is from Allah.’ I saw water flowing from between the fingers of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. We also used to hear the glorification of food while it was being eaten.”
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī: 3579)
❀ Anas ibn Mālik رضي الله عنه:
“The Prophet ﷺ placed his hand in a stone vessel with little water, and all the people performed wuḍūʾ from it. They were eighty men.”
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī: 3575)
❀ Another report of Anas رضي الله عنه:
“At al-Zawrāʾ, the Prophet ﷺ put his hand in a vessel, and water started flowing from his fingers. Three hundred men performed wuḍūʾ from it.”
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī: 3572; Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim: 2279)
❀ Jābir ibn ʿAbdullāh رضي الله عنه:
“At Ḥudaybiyyah, people became very thirsty. The Prophet ﷺ placed his hand in a water container, and water began flowing from his fingers like springs. We drank and performed wuḍūʾ. We were 1500 men.”
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī: 3576)
