Meeting with a Smiling Face is Also an Act of Goodness

✦ Never Undermine Any Act of Kindness​


«عن أبى ذر قال قال النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم: لا تحقرن من المعروف شيئا ولو أن تلقى أخاك بوجه طلق.»

[Ṣaḥīḥ: Reported by Muslim 2626]
Narrated by Abū Dharr (رضي الله عنه):
The Prophet ﷺ said to me:
“Do not belittle any act of kindness, even if it is meeting your brother with a cheerful face.”

✦ A Smile is a Form of Charity​


«عن جابر بن عبد الله، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: كل معروف صدقة، وإن من المعروف أن تلقى أخاك بوجه طلق، وأن تفرغ من دلوك فى إناء أخيك.»

[Ḥasan: Reported by al-Tirmidhī 1970; Aḥmad 14877; al-Bukhārī in al-Adab al-Mufrad 304]
Narrated by Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh (رضي الله عنهما):
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Every act of goodness is charity. Among the acts of goodness is meeting your brother with a cheerful face, and pouring water from your bucket into your brother’s container.”

✦ Summary of Teachings​


Smiling and being pleasant is a commendable Sunnah.
Even the smallest good deeds carry weight in the sight of Allah.
Such simple gestures promote love, unity, and reward in the hereafter.
