✿ Explanation of Terminology:
- لَأَرْمِيَنَّ (La-armiyanna): "I will surely do it" — a strong form of emphasis implying that the speaker will repeatedly enforce or assert the action.
- يَغْرِزَ (Yaghriz): To embed or insert — here, referring to placing a beam into the wall.
✿ Explanation of the Hadith:
This Hadith emphasizes good conduct and cooperation among neighbors. Specifically, it advises that one should not prevent a neighbor from utilizing a shared wall to insert a wooden beam — a practice that would typically occur in building construction or expansion.- According to some scholars, this Hadith promotes recommended (mustahabb) behavior, not an obligation. This is the opinion of Imam Malik (رحمه الله) and Imam Abu Hanifah (رحمه الله).
- However, Imam al-Shafi‘i (رحمه الله) and Imam Ahmad (رحمه الله) considered it indicative of an obligation—provided that allowing the beam does not harm the owner of the wall.
