It Is Forbidden to Frighten or Intimidate a Muslim

Author: Dr. Muhammad Ziya-ur-Rahman A'zami (رحمه الله)

It Is Not Permissible for a Muslim to Frighten Another Muslim

Hadith:

[Authentic: Narrated by Abu Dawood 5004, Ahmad 23064, and Al-Bayhaqi in Al-Adab 542]

Narrated by Abdur Rahman bin Abi Layla
The companions of Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) informed us that they were once travelling with the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم). One of them fell asleep, and another person took a rope that was with him. He became frightened, so the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:
"It is not permissible for a Muslim to frighten another Muslim."
