Shariah Ruling on Keeping a Television in a Rented House
Written by: Saudi Fatwa Committee
If there is a fixed-term rental agreement, the landlord cannot prohibit the tenant from keeping a television until the agreed rental period ends.
Once the rental term expires, the landlord may tell the tenant to remove it or choose not to renew the contract.
During the rental period, if the tenant keeps a television, the landlord bears no sin, because the house was not rented specifically for that purpose.
