❀ Ruling on Music and Indecent Television Programs ❀

What is the ruling on listening to music and songs? And what is the ruling on watching television programs that feature unveiled women?
The ruling on such matters is that they are prohibited and forbidden, because:
✔ They distract people from the path of Allah.
✔ They are a cause of spiritual diseases of the heart.
✔ They lead to the commission of immoral and forbidden acts.
Allah the Exalted says:
﴿ وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَشْتَرِي لَهْوَ الْحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَيَتَّخِذَهَا هُزُوًا ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ ﴾
﴿ وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا وَلَّىٰ مُسْتَكْبِرًا كَأَن لَّمْ يَسْمَعْهَا كَأَنَّ فِي أُذُنَيْهِ وَقْرًا ۖ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ ﴾
[Surah Luqman 31:6–7]
“And among the people is he who purchases idle talk to mislead others from the path of Allah without knowledge and takes it in ridicule. For such there will be a humiliating punishment. And when Our verses are recited to him, he turns away arrogantly as if he had not heard them, as if there were deafness in his ears. So give him tidings of a painful punishment.”
These verses clearly prove that idle entertainment and musical instruments lead to misguidance, mockery of the Divine Revelations, and arrogance in rejecting the truth.
