Alhamdulillah, wassalatu wassalamu ‘ala Rasulillah, amma ba’d!
Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an:
“The magicians will never be successful.”
“The magician will not succeed wherever he comes.”
In shaa’ Allah, the effect of magic will begin to fade by persisting in these acts.

Question
- Magic is a reality; it is possible for someone to perform it and for its effects to take place, especially in the case of very severe and dangerous magic. In such a situation, what should a muwahhid — one firm upon the belief of Tawhid — do so that the effects of magic are completely removed, Allah ﷻ eradicates them permanently, and he remains protected from magic in the future?
- Those who perform or commission magic — such as giving amulets, using dolls, etc. — with the aim of harming others: what is the Shari‘ah ruling regarding such people?
Answer
Alhamdulillah, wassalatu wassalamu ‘ala Rasulillah, amma ba’d!
① Protection from Magic and Removal of Its Effects
- First and foremost, supplicate to Allah ﷻ to remove the effects of magic and protect you from it in the future.
- Recite this dhikr at least 100 times in the morning:
- After every obligatory prayer, recite the last three Surahs of the Qur’an:
❀ Surah Al-Ikhlas
❀ Surah Al-Falaq
❀ Surah An-Nas - Before sleeping at night:
- Recite the same three Surahs three times each.
- Blow upon your hands, rub them over your entire body.
- Repeat this process three times.
- Additionally, recite these Surahs frequently at other times as well.
Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an:
“The magicians will never be successful.”
“The magician will not succeed wherever he comes.”
In shaa’ Allah, the effect of magic will begin to fade by persisting in these acts.
② Shari‘ah Ruling on Performing or Commissioning Magic
- Performing magic or having it performed is strictly prohibited in Shari‘ah.
- It is counted among the major sins (kabā’ir).
- The usual intention behind magic is to cause harm to others, which is severely forbidden in Islam.
- Those who use amulets or practice magic upon dolls, etc., are committing a grave sin.
- Likewise, those who commission such magic are equally sinful and share in the wrongdoing.
