⭑ Ruling on Income from Shaving the Beard ⭑

Earning through shaving the beard is haram, because any work declared forbidden by Allah and His Messenger ﷺ makes its wage forbidden as well.
① When the following verse was revealed:
﴿يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّمَا الْخَمْرُ وَالْمَيْسِرُ وَالْأَنصَابُ وَالْأَزْلَامُ رِجْسٌ مِّنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ﴾ [al-Ma’idah: 90]
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out and forbade the trade of alcohol.

② In another narration:
لعن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فى الخمر عشرة عاصرها ومعتصرها وشاربها وحاملها والمحمولة إليها وساقيها وبائعها والمشترى لها والمشترى له
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ cursed ten people in connection with alcohol: the one who squeezes it, the one for whom it is squeezed, the one who drinks it, the one who carries it, the one to whom it is carried, the one who serves it, the one who sells it, the one who purchases it, the one for whom it is purchased.”
[Sahih: Sahih Ibn Majah 2726, Kitab al-Ashriba, Bab: La‘nat al-Khamr ‘ala ‘Ashrah Awjuh; Ibn Majah 3381; Tirmidhi 1295; Ahmad 2/71]
Similarly, renting a shop to someone who shaves beards, or engaging in any cooperation in this act, is impermissible due to aiding in sin. Allah says:
﴿وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ﴾ [al-Ma’idah: 2]
“And do not assist one another in sin and transgression.”
