Ruling on Hunting with a Stone or Slingshot
Written by: Imran Ayub Lahori
A game hunted with a stone or slingshot is not halal unless it is slaughtered while still alive.
“The Prophet ﷺ forbade throwing pebbles and said: ‘It neither kills the game nor harms the enemy, but it can blind the eye and break the tooth.’”
[Bukhari 6220, Book of Manners, Chapter: Prohibition of Throwing Pebbles; Muslim 1954; Ahmad 5/54; Abu Dawud 5270; Ibn Majah 4227]
