Ownership and Disposal of a Gift in Islamic Law

Once a gift is physically received and taken into possession by the recipient, it becomes his or her personal property.
✔ The recipient may freely dispose of it according to Islamic principles.
✔ If the recipient chooses to give it in charity (ṣadaqah), the reward goes to the recipient, not the giver — because the item is now rightfully theirs.

◈ When Does a Gift Become One’s Property?
