Business of Bull Mating: Haram or Permissible?
Taken from: Fatāwā Amanpuri by Shaykh Ghulam Mustafa Zaheer Amanpuri
A man keeps a bull, and people bring their buffaloes for mating. After the mating, they give some money to the owner. What is the ruling on this?
Making bull mating a business and fixing a price for it is prohibited, and such earning is haram. However, if someone gives a gift voluntarily without any prior condition, there is no harm in accepting it.
❀ Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar رضي الله عنه narrated:
نهى النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم عن عسب الفحل
The Prophet ﷺ forbade taking payment for the mating of a male animal.
